At St. John, worship is a time of reflection, prayer, interaction and celebration. Some folks still wear their "Sunday best," while others come casually dressed clutching their morning coffee. Mostly, we believe in coming as you are, and we believe God will meet you wherever you are.
Children are celebrated in worship, beginning as they process in with the pastors each Sunday. There is also a children's coloring area in front, and activities available to keep young minds engaged. Kids can remain with their parents, or participate in church school (offered from September through May).
Communion is open to all who wish to know Christ and experience God in the sharing of bread and cup. This usually happens once a month and at special services. We offer wine and juice. Folks can come forward to be served, or remain in the pew and be served by an usher.
We offer a variety of types of music during worship, from organ and piano to drums and trumpets. Our handbell choir is awesome. We invite special music from members and professionals to add to the creative experience of worship and praise.
There are numerous places to park. Listed on the map below are the parking lots that are available. To access the church office it is better to park in the Seminary Street parking lot and use the Faith Hall entrance. Entrances are accessible by wheelchair and there are elevators or lifts at each level of the building. The Faith In Action parking lot is available on Sunday mornings and week day evenings.
